Frequently asked questions
Do I need an appointment?
For many NHS services, such as Pharmacy First, you can simply pop in. For private clinics like the ear clinic, travel vaccines and weight management, we recommend booking online so a pharmacist is free to see you.
I've run out of my medicine. Can you help?
Often, yes. If you've run out of a regular medicine, including when you're visiting Edinburgh, our pharmacist may be able to give you an emergency supply. Pop in or call us on 0131 563 9123.
What is Pharmacy First?
Pharmacy First is a free NHS Scotland service. Our pharmacists can give advice and, where suitable, treatment for common conditions like urinary tract infections, sore throats and skin complaints, without you needing to see your GP.
How much does ear wax removal cost?
An ear consultation costs £25. Ear wax removal by microsuction costs £35 for one ear or £60 for both ears.
When should I get my travel vaccines?
Ideally 6 to 8 weeks before you travel, as some vaccines need more than one dose. If you're leaving sooner, get in touch anyway as we may still be able to help.
Where are you?
We're at 6-7 Crighton Place, just off Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH7 4NZ. We're open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 5:30pm.
