Our weight management service gives you one-to-one support from a pharmacist who knows Leith and knows you. Every plan starts with an honest conversation about your goals, your health and what has or has not worked before.
How weight management works with us
First, we book you a private consultation. We measure your height, weight and BMI, go through a short health questionnaire and talk about any medicines you take. Then we explain the options, including side effects, so you can decide with confidence.
Who can have treatment
- Adults with a BMI of 30 or more
- Adults with a BMI of 27 or more who also have a weight-related condition, such as type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure
If treatment is suitable and you are happy to go ahead, you can usually take your first supply home on the day. If it is not the right time for medication, we will still help with practical changes to eating and activity.
Treatments we offer
We offer weekly injections, a daily injection and a tablet option. Your pharmacist will explain how each one works and help you choose. You can compare them below, or read the NHS inform weight loss advice for more background.
