Appearance

Can be the same colour as the skin, or slightly darker.

They can look like they are hanging off the skin, and can cause irritation from rubbing on jewellery or fabric

Range from a few milimeters to 5 cm wide

Common Locations

Can be located in any part of the body but most commonly are found in:

• Neck
• Armpits
• Groin
• Under the breasts
• Eyelids
• Under the fols of teh buttocks

Causes

Skin tags are more common in older people, however t patients wil type 2 diabetes, pregnant women may develop skin tags and some may devolops skin tags for no reason.

Treatment

Can be removed by freezing them off (cryotherapy- via Nitrogen spray)

Skin tag removal with cryotherapy

Cryotherapy uses a fine jet of cold nitrous oxide to freeze the skin tag. Afterwards, the treated area usually forms a small scab and falls away over the next few weeks. Treatment costs from £85, and some larger skin tags need more than one session.
